The State of Ohio owns properties throughout the state—many of which are either unused or under-utilized. When this land sits without purpose, it’s not only a missed opportunity—it can often contribute to community blight. The State Properties program focuses on putting this land to new use.

What is the State Properties program?
An ever-growing inventory of state-owned property allows businesses and governmental entities to search for un- or under-used land near them and have the opportunity to purchase it.
Goal
Until recently, no comprehensive inventory of state-owned property existed. We’re working to change that—so we have a complete and accurate list of all available land, at all times.
How it can help
When we know what land is unused, we’re one step closer to finding a purpose for it—whether it’s developed commercially, annexed to the surrounding property of a responsible owner, or reclaimed for parkland or other public use.
