Ohio Treasury Announces Green Listening Tour
Economic Tour provides a platform for Ohioans to share ideas and discuss the new Green Economy
Columbus – The Ohio Treasury will kick off a nine-city Green Listening Tour Wednesday across the state of Ohio. The first stop on the tour will be in Athens County at the Nelsonville Public Library, located at 95 W. Washington St, Nelsonville from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
The tour will bring key stakeholders together to share ideas, best practices and ways Ohio can reduce its carbon footprint, conserve energy, and create sustainable jobs.
The Ohio Treasury launched the tour after recently unveiling a new green program, Energy Conservation for Ohioans (ECO-Link), to provide reduced rate financing through partnering banks for Ohioans completing weatherization improvements or installing energy efficient products in the home. The program helps consumers save money, conserve energy, and stimulate the economy by creating new green jobs.
“The Ohio Treasury wants to do its part to help Ohio emerge as a leader in the new green economy,” said Ohio Treasurer Kevin L. Boyce. “The listening tour provides a platform for Ohio residents to share innovative ideas about ways they are making their homes and businesses more energy efficient and solicit input on the ECO-Link program.”
