Columbus –Treasurer Kevin L. Boyce is calling on motivated graduate and under graduate students to apply for the 2010 Mary Ellen Withrow Internship Program.
Students accepted into this highly competitive summer program will have a firsthand opportunity to learn how the Treasury protects and invests state funds while providing innovative financial education and resources. Internship duties include attending staff meetings, volunteering for special events, and participating in the Treasury’s daily activities.
“Mary Ellen Withrow is an extraordinary woman. She is the only person to have held the post of treasurer at all three levels of government – local, state and federal,” Treasurer Boyce said. “I am looking for students who have the same drive and desire she has for public service.”
The program requires that candidates commit to working a minimum of 20 hours per week during the summer. All internships are based in Columbus, Ohio. Interns are required to remain in the city throughout the duration of the program.
Applicants must be an Ohio resident and attending an accredited two or four year college or university, in or out-of-state. It is recommended that prospective interns seek academic credit for the Treasury internships with their respective educational institution.
