COLUMBUS – Ohio Treasurer Kevin L. Boyce has been appointed chairman of the National Association of State Treasurers (NAST) Financial Literacy Committee. As chairman, Treasurer Boyce will guide the financial literacy components of Treasuries around the nation, and provide advice for the development of NAST financial literacy programs.
“I am humbled and honored to be selected to serve as Chairman of the NAST Financial Literacy," said Treasurer Kevin L. Boyce. “Since taking office, I have worked tirelessly to provide financial literacy and resources to Ohioans. This role allows me to share my passion and enthusiasm about financial education”.
Treasurer Boyce will assume his new role, January 1, 2010. In September, Treasurer Boyce received the Distinguished Partner Award from the National Association of Securities Professionals (NASP) for his commitment to financial literacy, specifically the free Smart Money Choices conference series.
“I am dedicated to helping my colleagues across the nation enhance and develop financial literacy programs to empower families to make more informed decisions about their personal finances”.
The National Association of State Treasurers (NAST) is comprised of all state treasurers, or state finance officials with comparable responsibilities, from the United States, its commonwealth, territories, and the District of Columbia. Headquartered in Lexington, Kentucky, NAST is recognized as a national force, whose work has influenced public policy at both the state and local levels.
NASP is a national nonprofit organization of minority and female professionals in the securities industry. The organization serves as an informational resource for its members and others in the securities industry. NASP also seeks to ensure that minorities and women have an equal share in the securities industry. Currently, there are eight chapters of NASP across the country.
